I am toying with the idea of buying one of these machines (CC330-20) but they are really expensive:eek:. What I would love you all to tell me is why you bought yours/has it been worth it/do you wish you hadn't bothered etc etc. I just need more info so I can make an informed decision:).

Cheers;)

Hi Sal :)
I brought mine so I could design cuts to sell and I really love designing them, I don’t spend as much time as I’d like to but when I do I really enjoy it,

Yes you’re right the craft robo can be a bit expensive but on a plus side you can also sell some of your designs on Card Making Downloads which will help cover the cost of the machine ;)lollol

Hi Sal,

My reason for buying the silhouette which is similar to the Craft Robo (other than I'm totally addicted to gadgets and love my crafting lol) was if I weighed up how much it would cost me to get dies of all the flourishes I liked, shapes, wording etc., it gets pretty expensive, plus because it's your own design you are not limited to what's on the die - you can decide how large/small they are, within reason.

Saying that I have a big shot too and love it ( I really am a hopeless case lol) but at least with the silhouette if I am doing a special card etc., and I want a fancy MUM for eg cut out to size - it is easy for me to do it, I just wish I could have it permanently set up so I used it more.

The only downfall to the cutting machines is that they are not as easy to master as you would hope. It seems that most people have problems finding the right setting for the particular card they use - but once you have the setting and what blade to use sorted, and if you've enough patience to persevere without throwing it out of the window then you will eventually have lots of fun with it.

You can import your own graphics (jpeg) and after putting in the cutlines etc., you can print and cut the sheet you've made from one program, making decoupage pages cut out in a fraction of the time. The Robomaster program has a lot of capabilities but it does take time to learn the program and explore its functions and capabilities.

I have had times I regret buying it (mainly the first 3 months lol) but I can honestly say, now I have learned enough to get through and make it a worthwhile purchase.

Good luck with your decision. ;) Like Sammy said, at the end of the day when you're a master of the Robo - there's always a space on the designers list for you and your listings - you never know - it may well just pay for itself in the end ;)
