I would say the bit in the middle that joins the front and back is what makes it stand up as this would sit flat on your surface you would probably glue the front and back together around the edges and the flower bit is placed inside and your write your message on the other side :questionmark::questionmark:
I would assume anyway - hopefully the designer can tell us properly

Good Morning Ladies,
I'm so sorry if I wasn't clear in the description of the card, but it isn't meant to be a free standing project. As the directions state, you print out the design, cut out everything, score the line at the center of the Flowerpot, and then you glue just around the edges which makes a flat card that can fit in an envelope. The Insert that contains the greeting then just slides into the assembled Flowerpot enough to leave the flower bouquets showing at the top of the Flowerpot. Then, if you want to make the card look dimensional, you can cut out the floral decoupage elements and add them here and there to the bouquet at the top of the insert. When someone gets the card, they pull up the insert out of the Flowerpot to see your greeting, but the card itself is flat and doesn't stand by itself.
If you wanted to make a stand for it, you could probably use one from the designs on the website that are for holding the plate or the book greetings. It's an easel piece that I think the Flowerpot might fit on okay, but I haven't tried that myself.
Hope this helps ...
Eileen
