PLEASE HELP!! :D :D
Hi,
I'm after some advice! :)
I have some of these but my die cutting machine is a Sizzix Big Shot! :icon_rolleyes: I wondered if anyone has any advice/tips as to how I might be able to use these dies with my Big Shot.....I realise they aren't designed to be used with this machine, but was hoping someone out there may have a special secret hint or tip that will enable me to use them (can't afford a new machine, and really want to use these fab dies....)
PLEASE HELP!! :D :D

Hi Ali,
you can get a multipurpose platform so you can use them with you bigshot.

Thanks Kris.......I've got one of those, I use it with my Quickutz dies, but the Nestibilities don't work even with one of those.....

Hi Ali,
Jan (my personal craft guru lol lol) uses nestibilities with her big shot - I'll give her a call tomorrow and find out what you need to get them to go through - she did tell me before but I've forgotten :icon_redface: sorry.
Will get back to you, but rest assured they can definitely be used. :D

Hi Ali,
Couldn't wait for tomorrow lol lol I phoned Jan and she gave me details from a website she went to (following) They refer to a Tan Emboss Pad which is a spellbinders product as they say big shot doesn't have an embossing pad - but I have one for my big shot which I bought not so long ago for about £5 - so don't know on that bit! worth looking into though - in case the Tan Emboss pad is alot more expensive.
---> Big Shot by Ellison Design™
Capabilities
This machine is capable of cutting and embossing any Spellbinders Style Die™.
How-To
To use a Spellbinders Die in the Big Shot:
1. Layer an acrylic mat onto the thick white pad.
2. Place either two Sizzix® Adapters™ or one Spellbinders White Spacer Plate onto the
acrylic mat.
3. Place Spellbinders die on the Spacer Plate, blade side up.
4. Place paper over die.
5. Place another acrylic mat over paper. Roll through the Big Shot.
6. To emboss the die, remove the Spacer Plate.
7. Place Tan Emboss Pad over paper, put acrylic mat on top again and roll through Big Shot
again.
Jan said the spellbinders are approx the same thickness as nestibilities - play around with the adapters you use, just don't force it through machine as you can bend the dies.
Hope this helps you.
Hugs and best wishes

You're more than welcome Ali :D :D I will certainly say thanks to Jan for you - she's a star isn't she ! :D
Meant to say the embossing pad for the big shot is called an impressions pad that should make it easier to find if you need to get one.
Have fun ;):D

if you just want to cut and not emboss ali, i have a big shot and i just put a thickish piece of card between the clear sleeve and the white platform to ensure a good cut, i havent got an embossing matt yet, must put it on my list!!!

Hi All,I have the pink and black big shot and I love it,I use nestabilities , the machine is great with these dies,I have the wizard machine and hate it.I still have my old red sizzix which I would not part with for the world. Still use it for cutting out with ordinary dies. I have been told my new bigshot is lighter and plastic on the outside but still as good as the old red sizzix inside and the inner parts are still metal,I just think it makes sense to take the wear off the new macine. This is how I use nestabilities in my new machine.I put this on my wall so I do not forget.
To cut, multiplatform closed,
die, ridege side up card, coloured side down.2 acrylic mats, roll.
To emboss, remove acrylic mats, leave dies in place,I use 2 embossing mats, although you may be okay with one, shim,( A4 fold into three), 1 acrylic mat, roll. You can still do most things with the old red sizzix, you can use cross cuts dies in it, you can also us the nestabilities in it with the adapters but for me the reults are not quite as good as the little black adapters warp and move about.Linda

Hi
Just thought I'd mention that if you look inside the info card that comes with the Nesties, it gives you all the different machines that take the dies and the layering needed to put them through each machine.
They work with as well as the Wizard, The Big Kick, Original Sizzix, Cuttlebug (i use this), Big shot and the Revolution.
