CD Presentation Card / Holder

Step By Step Instructions How to Assemble a CD Presentation Card / Holder

For this demonstration I'm using CD Presentation Card / Holder Templates CLICK HERE

Print your template files as described below. Full written instructions are also included within the download.

Start by printing all of your template files first, as they all need to printed at ‘Exact Size’ for the templates to be correctly sized for a cd when completed. Return to the printer and print out your chosen background designs.

NOTE The templates for the cd card and cd holder require either the full width or length of an A4 piece of card therefore it will not be necessary for you to trim these edges.

Although some of the edges of the templates will not be printed, these are simply finishing off a previous cut so will not cause any problems at all when assembling your card.

Cut score and fold the templates as indicated on the sheets themselves.

Apart from attaching the cd holder, your cd card is complete and can be put to one side for the time being.

CD HOLDER – Apply a repositionable permanent adhesive to tabs numbered 1 and 2 on the good (patterned) side of the card, and to tab numbered 3 on the instructional side of the template.

If you are planning on using a silicone adhesive, make sure you apply the adhesive to one tab at a time, and secure the tabs in place whilst drying.

Turn the template over so you are looking at the instructional side. Stick tab numbered 1 to the opposite side. To achieve a nice tight corner, it is important that fold forms a right angle as this will form the box base.

Fold tab numbered 2 back on itself to form a box shape. This will add strength to the corner and help in sticking the other elements in place.

Ensure that the squared corner of the template (marked with the red arrow above) is overlapping the diagonal cut below, this will make sure you have a nice diagonal corner to your box base when completed.

Fold the template back on itself, in doing so you will find that the folded tab 2 will sit directly on top of tab numbered 1.

As you bring these sides up, it is easier to align them correctly if you make the two edges of the opposite sides meet, as shown below with the red arrows. Once you are happy with the alignment apply pressure to the corners to activate the adhesive below.

Finally stick tab number 3 to the base of the template.

Place double sided tape (dst) or adhesive of your choice around the outside edges of the template.

Now your cd holder is ready to attach to your pre-scored folded card. Line up your cd holder with the bottom fold of the card.

NOTE Try to line the holder up centrally to the card.

There are no markings on the template to indicate where to place the holder, as these markings may well show on your finished project.

Place dst or other adhesive on the central fold of the card, and stick to the back of your cd holder.

And there you have it. Your cd presentation card holder is complete and is just awaiting your finishing touches to make it something truly special.

To finish off your project ready to give to your recipient, there is also a standard box template included within the download.

I hope you have as much fun making these templates as I did designing them.
